Pensacola Beach Snorkeling Reef

An hour’s drive from Crestview will bring you to the beautiful Pensacola beach, with its exciting snorkeling reef. About 500 feet from shore, you can immerse yourself in a forest of approximately 40 oyster reef trees. This artificial reef was installed in 2011, and is reserved for paddleboarders, kayakers, divers, and snorkelers. This makes the Pensacola Beach Snorkeling Reef a beautiful and quiet snorkeling location where you may encounter a wide variety of marine life without the disturbance of motorized vehicles. The water is about 14 feet deep, and the reef tops are located about nine feet below its surface.

To access the reefs, go to the Pensacola public beach access point at Pensacola Beach, Florida, 32561. Drive on to the second parking area for the Park East location and park in the gravel lot. Locate the orange-tipped range markers, located to the left of the beach access trail. Line them up, then swim about 500 feet straight offshore.
