Visit Casbah Coffee Company

Casbah Coffee Company is family-owned, and it serves fantastic roast coffee. This place offers beans from Guatemala, Sumatra, Brazil, Tanzania, Colombia, and Costa Rica. Customers who need some extra energy often choose the Casbah Espresso Blend. It’s a combination of Guatemalan, Brazilian, and Sumatran beans that come together to create an extremely smooth, rich flavor.

Twin Hills Park has more than 20 acres of gorgeous landscapes. There’s a pristine lake with forests around it, and you can go hiking or work out in the park’s large indoor gym. This place also has volleyball, tennis, and basketball courts, picnic tables, barbecue grills, and covered seating areas.

Twin Hills Park is ideal for gatherings with family members and friends. Kids often love playing in this park. The playground is new, and the splash area is great for hot summer days. This park is open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays.

See the Air Force Armament Museum

For a walk through aviation history, head to the Air Force Armament Museum. It’s in Fort Walton Beach, about half an hour away from Crestview. It has a variety of impressive aircraft, including an SR-71 Blackbird, the fastest plane ever built. You can also see a C-130 Gunship, an A-10 Thunderbolt II, and a Douglas AC-47. You can also see exhibits about the Korean War, World War II, the Vietnam War, World War I, the Gulf War, and more.

The massive gun vault is packed with firearms from all of these wars. Some of the most interesting pieces include a Lewis Gun, the machine gun that B-17 Flying Fortresses used, a captured German Parabellum Rifle, and a 1908 Maxim Gun. The Air Force Armament Museum is open Monday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free, but it’s closed on most Federal holidays.

Check Out the Indian Temple Mound Museum

You can learn more about Florida’s past at the Indian Temple Mound Museum in Fort Walton Beach. The exhibits cover 12,000 years of human history in the area, from the later prehistoric era to the last days of the native indigenous cultures in the region. This museum has more than 1,000 stone artifacts, including tools, pots, platters, weapons, and communal food storage containers.

The Weeden Island Culture people created the mounds, and they used them for ceremonial, religious, and political purposes. The main mound required a lot of earth to build (over 200,000 basket loads, in fact), and it was a massive undertaking for the group. It was a platform for the temple, the home of the chief, and the burial site for past leaders. Today, it’s still 12 feet high and 223 feet wide at its base. There’s a reproduction of the original temple on top of it, and it became a National Historic Landmark in 1964.

You can see some Civil War artifacts at this museum as well. During the war, Confederate soldiers occupied the mound and the surrounding area. Many of the buildings on the site were destroyed during the war. You can revisit this moment in history and more during your visit. It is open on weekdays from noon to 4:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

See the Emerald Coast Zoo

Kids and adults can have a great time at the Emerald Coast Zoo. It’s filled with many fascinating, beautiful, and intimidating animal species. Visitors can interact with most of the animals. That means you can get eye-to-eye with a massive giraffe and feed it some of its favorite plants or pet a sloth as it hangs out. The aviary is full of friendly birds who would love to feast on a seed stick or two from you.

With supervision, you can enter the enclosure with the kangaroos and wallabies. They love to hop around with visitors. You can also feed honey to a massive black bear or even participate in lion training. Kids can join in with parental permission, and supervision is required. This place is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on most days, and it’s closed on Mondays. It’s a popular venue for birthday parties, field trips, and many other special events, and there’s a camp for kids from 7 to 11 years old.

Relax at the Timber Creek Distillery

The Timber Creek Distillery offers a variety of unique spirits. You can choose classic barrel-aged, apple pie, and coffee rums or classic barrel-aged, black rye, single malt, and special reserve whiskey. Classic gin, vodka, and clear rum are also available. Every batch is hand-bottled with local ingredients, and brandies made from local fruits will be available soon.

This place offers three interesting experiences to all visitors. A standard distillery tour with tasting is available, and it lasts for about an hour. You can also play games of disc golf or throw axes. This place is popular, and it’s a good idea to schedule your visit in advance. If you don’t feel like going to the distillery, you can buy Timber Creek from many retailers.
