If you need to regularly transport a large number of people or plenty of cargo, consider getting the 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe. Besides a cavernous interior, this full-size SUV also offers a lineup of punchy engines, composed handling, and an extensive list of standard features. Also, it’s available in six trim levels to suit the budgets and needs of different drivers. Check out this helpful guide to determine which trim of the Chevrolet Tahoe is best for you.

Overview of the 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe

The Chevrolet Tahoe has consistently been one of the most popular large SUVs because of its excellent reliability, versatility, and value for money. From performance to technology, it impresses in almost every department. For the 2022 model year, the SUV has received new standard features to reinforce its dominant position in the competitive full-size SUV segment.

Regardless of the trim level, the 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe won’t disappoint in terms of power. The SUV has three potent engines for you to choose from: the standard 355-horsepower 5.3-liter V8, the optional 420-horsepower 6.2-liter V8, and the diesel-powered 277-horsepower 3.0-liter turbo-six. All three engines work with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard, but you can get the available four-wheel drive. This Chevy model has a maximum towing capacity of 8,400 pounds, which is achieved with the base engine and the Max Trailering package.

The turbo-diesel engine is the most fuel-efficient in the lineup, returning an impressive 21/28 mpg (city/highway) with rear-wheel drive. The standard engine earns 16/20 mpg, while the larger V8 gives you 15/20 mpg.

In its standard seating configuration, the 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe can accommodate up to eight people in three rows. No matter where you choose to sit, you’ll enjoy a generous amount of legroom and headroom. Even the third row is adult-friendly, which isn’t always the case in a three-row SUV. The seats provide ample support and cushioning to keep everybody comfortable even on long drives. In addition, the Tahoe offers a more generous list of standard tech and safety features than most of its rivals.
