Chevy Commercial Lineup
Chevy’s commercial lineup of models should rank near the top of your list if you need a vehicle to help you complete tasks and take on big projects. Chevy’s selection includes capable trucks and spacious vans, each with its own impressive list of features and functionality. We’re breaking down the commercial lineup so you can decide which Chevy model best fits your needs.
Chevy Express Cargo Van
One of the most popular commercial models from Chevy is the Express van. You can choose from the Cargo configuration and the Passenger model. If you opt for the latter, you can carry 12 to 155 passengers. The cargo van doesn’t have a lot of seating in the back. Still, it’s highly customizable with various interior designs to accommodate contractors, electricians, plumbers, and other commercial professionals.
Each van features a full-frame design for added strength and durability, along with a range of engine options. These options include:
- A 4.3-liter V-6 engine that provides 276 horsepower and 298 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
- A 6.6-liter V-8 engine rated at 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed heavy-duty automatic transmission.
- A 2.8-liter Duramax turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine that produces 181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Suppose you need a commercial-grade passenger van to transport people. Chevy’s model is an excellent choice in that case as it is well-equipped with safety features to protect precious cargo. Rear swing-out doors come standard, while a sliding side cargo door is available on the cargo version. A rearview camera and tire pressure monitoring system are standard, while rear park assist is an available option.

Chevrolet is well-known in the automotive industry for its impressive lineup of trucks. The commercial line includes multiple options designed specifically for utility and functionality. The first one on the list is the Silverado 3500HD Chassis Cab, which shares a platform with the Silverado 3500HD. The main difference is the truck’s rear, as the commercial version doesn’t have a traditional bed. Instead, it provides a foundation for each buyer’s upfit needs.
The body of the truck features large axles with 12-inch ring gear, a heavy-duty locking rear differential, and two cab lengths. Your vehicle will have a gross combined weight rating that falls between 24,000 and 40,000 pounds depending on which model you choose. You can also choose between two engine options:
- A 6.6-liter V-8 gas-powered engine that produces 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
- A Duramax 6.6-liter turbo-diesel V-8 engine that produces 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 10-speed Allison automatic transmission.
Suggested upfit options for the rear of the truck include a utility bed, a dump platform that lifts and lowers for eliminating a load, and a flat frame for transporting large and bulky items. Within the truck’s cabin, creating a workspace with other optional features is easy. The Chevy Infotainment 3 system comes standard, along with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration, dual USB ports, and the myChevrolet mobile app. You can also upgrade your cabin to include a 120-volt power outlet and Wi-Fi hot spot to work on the go.
Chevy Silverado 3500HD Dual Rear Wheel
The Chevy Silverado 3500HD Dual Rear Wheel is similar to the Chassis Cab version, although it comes with a traditional bed. As its name suggests, it comes standard with a dual rear wheel configuration, which increases its towing capacity and overall functionality. It also comes with a long bed and is available with a double or regular cab. This model shares its engine options with the Chassis Cab truck and can tow up to 36,000 pounds when properly equipped.
Chevy Low Cab Forward
If your business involves making deliveries or transporting large pieces of equipment, the Chevy Low Cab Forward might be your best option. It comes in multiple sizes, along with various cabs, engine options, and wheelbases. Depending on your commercial needs, you can upfit this vehicle to accommodate them. Its design ensures optimal visibility for the driver. Plus, the low-slung cabin is easy to climb into and out of multiple times a day.
Within the cabin, you’ll find folding seatbacks, which double as workspaces, along with functional storage areas in the doors, dashboard, and rear. The top 6500 XD Low Cab Forward is the most capable of the bunch, featuring a 5.2-liter turbo-diesel engine that produces 215 horsepower and 520 pound-feet of torque. The 3500 and 4500 models come with a 6.6-liter gas-powered V-8 rated at 350 horsepower and 425 lb-ft of torque.
Chevy Silverado 4500HD/5500HD/6500HD
Additional Chassis Cab trucks available in the line include the Silverado 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD. Each comes with a regular cab or crew cab, along with a wheelbase range of 141-243 inches / 175-235 inches. The key differentiator between these three models is the gross vehicle weight rating, which falls between 14,001 and 23,500 pounds.
When you opt for this truck, you can upfit it with various options, including a dump truck, stake body, or utility body. The chassis cab features a single-piece frame rail that is highly durable and ready for whatever upfit option you choose.
Additional Chevy Trucks
The other trucks in Chevy’s commercial lineup are slightly modified versions of the ever-popular passenger trucks. These include the Silverado 1500 WT, designed with work tasks and functionality in mind, and the Colorado, a smaller truck that can keep up on big jobs. With the Silverado 1500, you can tow up to 13,300 pounds and haul up to 2,280 pounds of payload, thanks to a 6.2-liter V-8 engine that comes with the commercial version.
